The Story Behind The Bite
With over 19 years of experience in the baking industry, I've journeyed from humble beginnings to becoming a skilled cake decorator, mastering every role within a bakery. However, my path took an unexpected turn when I was diagnosed with celiac disease, making it challenging to continue working amidst ingredients harmful to my health. Despite voicing concerns about gluten intolerance, I felt unheard, bouncing from doctor to doctor with my symptoms dismissed as mere "nervous stomach issues." Faced with adversity, I contemplated abandoning my dream of owning a bakery, even entertaining the idea of pursuing medical school. Yet, my passion for baking proved unwavering, leading me to launch my own venture from home in 2018. Initially serving the community through farmers' markets, I soon recognized a pressing need for allergy-friendly goods. What began as selling from my front porch evolved into fulfilling specialty orders, culminating in the opportunity to establish an official storefront for OTWP. After months of renovation, we proudly opened our doors in June 2024, offering a haven for those seeking delicious treats without compromising their dietary needs.
